A woman is suing a doctor for conducting an abortion in which parts of the baby were allegedly left inside her, resulting in emergency care and surgery.

The woman who filed the lawsuit on March 21 goes by "Jane Doe" and is 32 years old.

In April of 2023, Doe left Indianapolis to go to an abortion facility in Champaign, Illinois.

Following the procedure she said she needed emergency care and surgery because part of the baby was still left inside of her, according to the Catholic News Agency.

Doe and her attorneys filed a lawsuit against Dr. Keith Reisinger-Kindle for medical negligence.

Dr. Reisinger-Kindle did not immediately respond Tuesday for a request for comment.

The lawsuit states Doe “will continue to experience irreversible suffering and emotional damages” due to the experience.
