The largest cruise ship in the world, the ‘Icon of the Seas‘, rescued 14 Cuban rafters who were sailing on the high seas on Saturday and transported them to Honduras.

A journalist from the Honduran television channel Roatán Hable Claro TV, which was broadcasting the arrival of the Royal Caribbean company ship from a port, confirmed the rescue of the Cuban migrants.

The journalist said that the exact point where the small boat was found is not yet known, but he has provided a list of those who have been identified.

The video published on Instagram by the Cubanos por el Mundo account shows a small boat with several people on board waiting to receive help from the crew of the ‘Icon of the Seas.

The publication was commented on by several netizens who regretted that Cubans continue to risk their lives on the high seas to escape the misery that their country is going through.

“My God, even when our brothers are going to lose their lives at sea,” wrote one user.

“Nothing more and nothing less than 'Icon of the Seas'. "They are going to go crazy with the luxury," said another.

“The saddest thing is that they will be repatriated after such a difficult journey and the boat that they surely had to pay for so dearly is not easy,” said a third.

Those rescued were identified as the following: José Luis Margarito, José Arlen Rein, Daviel Merino León, Ivandi López Lazo, Samuel Carrasco García, Yansel Rodríguez García, Hernández Álvarez, Emilio Perdomo Martín, Yasmani Díaz, Morales Hernández, Raudel Sannavés, Luis Ángel Valdés and Lázaro Ramiro Pino Rojas.
