Former President Donald Trump has denied that he stormed out of an interview with British television presenter Piers Morgan after a teaser for the segment was released in which Trump is seen abruptly leaving the room.

The interview is set air on Talk TV, a subsidiary of Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp., and has been hailed as “the most explosive interview of the year.

According to members of the former president’s team, however,  the trailer was misleadingly edited to garner interest for Morgan’s new show. Although Trump can be seen in the video walking off set after asking the crew to “turn the camera off,” a recording of the interview leaked by Trump’s team shows the former president and Morgan exchanging pleasantries after the interview, Global News reported.

At the end of the recording, Morgan can be heard saying, “that was a great interview,” to which Trump agrees, responding, “yeah.”

After Morgan thanked Trump, the former president can be heard saying, “turn the camera off.”

Notably, however, Trump was already out of his seat by that point.

Shortly after the teaser was released, Trump spokesperson Taylor Budowich blasted the video saying, “this is a pathetic attempt to use President Trump as a way to revive the career of a failed television host.”

Morgan responded to Trump’s assertion that the teaser was misleadingly edited on Thursday, saying, “He says it’s a rigged election, and he now says I have a rigged promo. What I would say is: watch the interview. It will all be there. We won’t be doing any duplicitous editing.”

“The promo reflects exactly what happened. Donald Trump got very angry about one particular thing and he couldn’t let it go. But when people see the interview they’ll see that we have nice exchanges. We always have done before. But simmering is this anger he was feeling about what was said to him before we started the interview,” he said.
