The new season premieres on May 20 and will follow previous winners as they fight to secure the title of “Queen of All Queens” along with a hefty $200,000 cash prize.
After the show’s season finale aired on Friday, a trailer revealed the eight previous winners that will be featured in the new season – along with a few celebrity guests including Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Apart from Pelosi, other celebrities scheduled to appear on the show include, Cameron Diaz, Ronan Farrow, Nikki Glaser and Ben Platt.
According to a report from The Hill, the California Democrat is scheduled to make a “special appearance” – marking the second time she’s appeared on RuPaul’s stage after she first made a cameo in 2018.
After making her inaugural appearance, Pelosi praised the show’s stars and stated that American politicians could learn a lot from drag queens.
“This idea of people believing in themselves, being themselves, taking pride in themselves, is not just a lesson for politicians but for everyone in the country. And that’s why I was so excited and couldn’t resist being on the show,” she said.
In a promotional video for the show’s new season, Pelosi can be seen reciting one of RuPaul’s catchphrases to the contestants: “Can I get an amen?”
