House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was booed when she made a surprise guest appearance at New York City’s Global Citizen’s music festival on Saturday.

Videos shared on social media show the crowd gathered in Central Park booing at the house speaker as she walked on stage to speak briefly.

Pelosi was invited to the event to talk about climate change and Congress’ plans to cut carbon emissions.

“As speaker of the house, I am here to thank you for your dazzling advocacy, entrepreneurial thinking, and determination as global citizens,” she said as she began her speech.

“It’s thanks to your help that the United States recently enacted historic climate legislation, which will be a game changer,” Pelosi said as the rumble continued. “It will slash carbon pollution by 40% by 2030, it will give a historic, an historic $370 billion to fight the climate crisis.”

While some festival goers can be heard cheering for the house speaker as she speaks during the event, the crowd continued making noise throughout her remarks. Some of the crowd even began yelling “let’s go!” as they waited for the next entertainer to get on stage.

The annual music festival gives out free tickets to thousands of fans who want to take action to help end extreme poverty. The event brings together actors, musicians, activists, corporate leaders, and politicians to talk about ending poverty and climate change.

This year’s lineup included Metallica, Charlie Puth, the Jonas Brothers, MANESKIN, Mariah Carey, Mickey Guyton, and Rosalia.

The music festival thanked Pelosi for her appearance during the event in a tweet.

“Thank you, @SpeakerPelosi for recognizing Global Citizens all around the world who took action in support of the new, historic climate legislation in the US!” the festival tweeted.
