McDonald’s new Happy Meal for adults is bringing back classic characters

For a limited time, McDonald’s is launching a Happy Meal for adults. Inside the nostalgic box, the adult meal will include a Big Mac or 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, French fries, a drink, and a toy.  

"We're taking one of the most nostalgic McDonald's experiences and literally repackaging it in a new way that's hyper-relevant for our adult fans," said Tariq Hassan, McDonald's USA Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer.

The toys that will come with the adult happy meal will be redesigned figurines of the classic McDonald's characters, including Grimace, Hamburglar, and Birdie, as well as a new character called “Cactus Buddy.”

The new Happy Meal promotion is part of a collaboration with Cactus Plant Flea Market, a popular streetwear brand.  

“Cactus Plant Flea Market is a fashion label crafting original streetwear with signature dye treatments and lettering. Some pieces are hand-embroidered, and a select few feature the character of Cactus Buddy!, included in the set of four coveted collectibles,” says the fast food chain’s website.

The Cactus Plant Flea Market Boxes will be available beginning on Monday, October 3, until supplies last. The Happy Meal can be ordered inside the restaurant, drive-thru, or through the McDonald's app.

For customers ordering their happy meal through the app, they can also enter sweepstakes to win custom Cactus Plant Flea Market merchandise featuring McDonald's, including t-shirts, hoodies, and a Grimace chair.
