Jennifer Lopez, 52, announced her wedding to Ben Affleck, 49, through her newsletter On the JLo after getting married in Las Vegas on Saturday. With a text titled "We did it," it was the first time the singer revealed the details of the ceremony.
"Last night we flew to Las Vegas, lined up to get a license with four other couples, all making the same trip to the wedding capital of the world," she said.
"Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out that love is patient. Twenty years of patience. Exactly what we wanted," the singer said about the most anticipated wedding of the year.
Lopez left clues in her newsletter: she included photos in which the newlyweds can be seen smiling, as well as the designs of their dresses and some of the guests, like one of her sons, riding in a pink Cadillac.
"Stay long enough and you might just find the time of your life in Las Vegas, at twelve-thirty in the morning, in the tunnel of love, with your children and the person you will spend the rest of your life with. Love is a great thing, maybe the best of things, and it's worth waiting for," added the Bronx artist.
The couple got engaged last April, and there has been much speculation as to what the wedding would be like, which comes 20 years after their love story began.
"Behind us, two men held hands and embraced. In front of us, a young couple who made the three-hour drive from Victorville on their daughter's second birthday, all wanting the same thing, for the world to recognize us as partners and declare our love to the world through the ancient and nearly universal symbol of marriage," Lopez explained on On the JLo.
Jlo revealed they got married "with the best witnesses you can imagine, a dress from an old movie and a jacket from Ben's closet." The Ring star also shared images of two different looks: before changing "in a room" in the chapel chosen for the wedding, she wore a sleeveless white dress with a collar that she had kept for years.
"I feel amazing. I'm so excited," the artist is heard saying in a video shared on Instagram by her hairstylist, Chris Appleton. "I've had this dress for so many years, and I've been saving it, saving it, saving it, saving it, and now I'm wearing it on my wedding day," she added, visibly excited.
In addition to this outfit, she wore another white lace dress with bare shoulders, long sleeves, and a sweetheart neckline. The piece is from the bridal collection of couturier Zuhair Murad for spring-summer 2023, composed of a bodice, a mermaid train, and a matching veil, according to People magazine.
"Love, Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck." This is the signature that appears in the latest newsletter of On the JLo. The singer of Let's get loud has shown her intention to use her husband's last name since their marriage on July 16.
In addition to the singer's mother, there were several very special guests at the expected union: Affleck's three children with Jennifer Garner, Violet Anne, Seraphina Rose, and Samuel; and also Emme and Maximilian, the twins that Lopez had with singer Marc Anthony.
This is the second marriage for Affleck, while Jennifer Lopez, on the other hand, is the fourth. Previously, the pop star was married for a year to the Cuban waiter Ojani Noa, and to the dancer Cris Judd.
In 2021, after almost two decades apart, the stars' paths came together again after she ended her four-year courtship with baseball player Alex Rodriguez and the Gone Girl star ended his relationship with Cuban actress Ana de Armas.
