A Utah groom's wedding night turned tragic after he and his bride were involved in a crash caused by an alleged drunk driver.

Aric Hutchinson and Samantha Miller were leaving their wedding reception in Folly Beach, South Carolina, in a golf cart when a vehicle hit them from behind. The driver was allegedly traveling at 65 mph in a 25 mph zone. Sadly, Miller died as a result, and Hutchinson suffered multiple broken bones and a brain injury, according to a GoFundMe set up by his mother.

Hutchinson has undergone two reconstruction surgeries and remains in critical condition. He has lost his new wife, whom he married just a few hours before the accident.

The couple's wedding rings had been exchanged and they had read their vows only hours earlier. A separate GoFundMe page has been set up to assist Miller's family with her burial costs.

Two of Hutchinson's relatives who were also in the golf cart, Benjamin and Brogan Garrett, were injured in the crash. Hutchinson is a former football player who graduated from Bonneville High School in South Ogden and attended Snow College and Utah Tech.
