The promising career of NFL quarterback Deshaun Watson seemed to take a new turn after he signed with the Cleveland Browns for the 2022 season. However, lawsuits against him over sexual misconduct continue to grow in numbers and could mean the end of his career.

On Monday, the number of lawsuits against the quarterback increased to 24 after Katy Williams became one more plaintiff. The owner of the therapeutic massage business in Houston claimed that she was sexually assaulted in one of the sessions she had with Watson in August 2020.

The most recent lawsuit against the player was filed by the attorney representing the 24 women claiming to be victims, Tony Buzbee.

"What is absent in this media frenzy surrounding Deshaun Watson is that these are 24 strong and courageous women who, despite taunts, legal shenanigans, and intense media scrutiny, are standing up for what is right," Buzbee said in a statement.

Several female masseuses accused Deshaun Watson of harassing, assaulting, or touching them during sessions with the player when he played for the Houston Texans. According to the last complainant, Watson exposed himself to her during a massage session and masturbated "without offering any apology or explanation for his conduct." According to the lawsuit, the woman quit the massage business because of what happened and now suffers from depression and anxiety.

Deshaun Watson and his lawyers have argued that the plaintiffs only seek economic benefits. Furthermore, the player claims that some of the episodes reported were consensual.

The NFL concluded an investigation of Watson’s actions following the sexual misconduct claims against him. While the league might suspend him, the player's attorney, Rusty Hardin, would seek to appeal.

The Browns are aware that the NFL may suspend Watson, and coach Kevin Stefanski told the AP News that the team is ready to face a possible suspension of the star quarterback.
