Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry left the game with a left foot injury late in the first half and did not return to Wednesday's game where the Boston Celtics crushed the Warriors 110-88.

Curry was injured with 4:19 minutes left in the second quarter when fighting for a loose ball on the side of the court. Marcus Smart dove for control of the ball and landed on the NBA scoring champion's leg.

Curry was limping before coming out. Moments later, Smart made another aggressive play with the next dead ball. He was fouled with a first degree before halftime when he jumped and made contact with his leg on Klay Thompson's throwing arm.

Smart was confronted by the furious Warriors coach Steve Kerr, who showed his concern over Curry's foot. "We'll know after the MRI," Kerr said. Marcus Smart explained that he didn't see Curry and was only going for the ball.

"I thought it was a dangerous play. Marcus threw himself at Steph, and that's what bothered me. I have a lot of respect for Smart," the Warriors coach explained.

"He's a great player, a competitor. I coached him at the World Cup a few summers ago. We talked after the game, and we're good friends. But I thought it was a dangerous move."
