The White House reported Saturday that President Joe Biden tested positive for COVID-19 again, just four days after he the chief executive purportedly tested negative.

According to White House Dr. Kevin O'Connor, this new infection could be a rebound effect of positivity in patients who have been treated with Paxlovid, an anti-viral drug from Pfizer, with which they Biden was being treated.

In a statement, O'Connor said Biden is not showing any symptoms, but that he will be kept isolated inside the White House.

"The president has not experienced any resurgence of symptoms and continues to feel quite well. That being the case, there is no reason to restart treatment at this time, but obviously we will continue to closely observe him," O'Connor said.

The doctor says that this type of rebound occurs in a very small number of patients, but it appears that Biden has become part of that unfortunate group. This, despite the fact that he has the vaccinations and all the boosters.

Biden was tested every day from Tuesday through Friday and the result was always negative, but this Saturday morning he tested positive again.
