Friends of Alina Kabaeva, the Olympic rhythmic gymnast that is rumored to be Vladimir Putin’s mistress,  are asking her to step in to stop his invasion of Ukraine as pressure mounts for her expulsion from Switzerland, reports Page Six.

“Alina’s female friends are begging her to fly to Putin and persuade him to end the war,” said one source. “He doesn’t seem to be listening to anybody, but perhaps he might listen to her.”

The source added, “Putin is surrounded by rings and rings of security. Alina says she doesn’t know if she can get to him — and even if she does, she doesn’t know if she’ll be able to get out again to be with their kids.”

Kabaeva, who was once dubbed “Russia’s most flexible woman,” is one of the most decorated athletes in rhythmic gymnastics history, with 2 Olympic medals, 14 World Championship medals and 21 European Championship medals.

She has reportedly had four children with Putin, 69, who were born in the once-neutral country and hold Swiss passports. The former gymnast is believed to hold passports under a number of different names and nationalities.

The mistress and children are staying at the private mountain lodge of a Putin loyalist near Switzerland’s border with France, according to Page Six. Swiss authorities have denied any knowledge of Putin’s lover within the country.

A Change.org petition demanding Kabaeva and her children be expelled from Switzerland over Putin’s invasion of Ukraine has gathered more than 60,000 signatures.

“Despite the current war, Switzerland continues to host an accomplice of Putins regime. It’s time Switzerland take action and reunite Alina ‘Eva Braun’ Kabaeva with her ‘Fuhrer’,” the petition states, referring to the Nazi leader’s longtime companion.

The famously neutral country broke tradition and agreed to join European sanctions on Russian assets over the Ukraine war.

“For the first time in modern history, your country violated its neutrality, which it did not even do vis-à-vis Nazi Germany in the 20th century, and joined the sanctions against Putin and his surroundings. And now his favorite mistress with her children is hiding within the borders of your state!” the petition said.
