The gunman of the shooting at Robb Elementary School in Texas was identified as Salvador Ramos, an 18-year-old who killed at least 19 children and two teachers on Tuesday.
Ramos was a former student of the same school, to which he returned with a pistol and an AR-15 rifle to carry out a terrible massacre.
Although little is still known about him, police shared a photo showing him as a young man with long black hair and a piercing gaze.
On his Instagram account, Ramos posted an image four days before the attack showing two semi-automatic shotguns with the magazine attached. The gunman bought his weapons immediately after turning 18 last May 16, according to state Sen. Roland Gutierrez.
A young woman shared a conversation she had with Ramos, whom she allegedly did not know. Last Friday, the attacker shared the photo of the rifles with the young woman, according to El Confidencial.
"What do your guns have to do with me?" she asked, to which he replied, "I'm about to. I'll tell you before 11. There's a secret I'd like to tell you."
The shooting took place shortly after that time.
She never replied. Ramos' last message was at 9:16 a.m. "I'm going for it," he wrote.
"The only reason I responded to him was because he scared me. Now I regret not staying up talking to him to try to prevent this crime," the woman added.
Investigators are now trying to piece together the clues of a person who was obsessed with guns, magazines, and violence.
Victim of school bullying as a child
Ramos was bullied as a child because he had difficulty speaking and because of his family's economic situation, the Washington Post reported after talking to friends and classmates of the killer.
Santos Valdez Jr. told the media that Ramos was his friend until "his behavior began to deteriorate.” He also recalls that one day he came to school with a face full of cuts: "He told me that he had cut his face with knives over and over again for fun.”
During high school, he was bullied because he stuttered and had a lisp when he spoke, according to family and friends. In addition, Ramos was absent from school for long periods of time, so he did not graduate with his classmates in his senior year.
