New Texas parents in Denton, Texas happily welcomed two twin girls, who were born in different years after their mother had a C-section on New Year’s Eve.

Annie Jo was the last baby to be born in 2022 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Denton, on December 31, 2022, at 11:55 p.m.

Effie Rose was the first baby to be born in 2023, six minutes after her twin sister, at 12:01 on January 1, 2023.

Their mom, Kali Jo Scott checked in to the hospital a week-and-a-half before her due date and had to have a C-section on New Year’s Eve, according to Fox 4 KDFW.

"We had kind of joked, like, ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if…' with the holiday and New Year's Eve over the weekend. It turned out that was more of a possibility than we realized," mom Kali Jo Scott told Fox 4.

The parents told the news outlet that they are happy that their daughters will both get their own birthday celebration, despite being twins.

"You always still want to make sure they have their own individual personality and know that they are special and unique," said the twins' mom. "So this gets to add to that special uniqueness that some twins don't maybe get."

“One will always get the glitter and confetti of New Year’s Eve and one gets to kick it off with a brand-new year on New Year’s Day.”

"Texas Health is privileged to be part of so many births, and we’re especially excited to be part of such a memorable birth of Annie and Effie Scott," Texas Health Presbyterian told Fox News Digital.

"We wish them a lifetime of happiness and health," the hospital added.
