A Texas woman confessed to killing her 5-year-old daughter by stabbing and strangling her because “she was evil.”

Melissa White Town, 37, allegedly took her daughter Nichole to Spring Creek Park in Tomball on Sunday. At the part, she made her daughter get down on her knees and then slashed her neck with a knife.

As she fought for her life, the 5-year-old girl yelled “I’ve been good.” Her mother, however, continued the attack and told her “Stop fighting it!” according to authorities.

When the girl did not die from the stabbing, the mother proceeded to strangle her for around 30 to 45 minutes, according to court documents.

Towne then wrapped the girl's body inside a mesh laundry bag, which she placed on the floor of her car as she headed to the emergency room of the HCA Tomball Hospital.

At the hospital, she asked the staff for a wheelchair because “her daughter’s body was hurting.”

When a nurse opened the vehicle door, she found Nichole partially wrapped in bags, seriously wounded, and unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the hospital at 12:10 p.m.

Prosecutors said in court on Monday that Towne told investigators that she wanted to kill her daughter “because she was an evil child and did not want to deal with her anymore.”

Police arrested Towne after they found a knife in her pocket when she was patted down by deputies. Towne was charged with capital murder and booked into Harris County Jail with a bond set at $15 million.

One of Towne’s neighbors said it was known that she had mental issues and had to call the police on her multiple times.

“We always knew she had mental issues. She would have arguments with my mailbox for no reason,” said neighbor Alan Pfarr.

“One time, she was beating up on a car. I didn’t realize it was hers. She was hitting it with a baseball bat,” Pffar added.
