Musk denies affair with Google cofounder's wife, says 'nothing romantic,' calls WSJ 'sub tabloid'

Billionaire Elon Musk late Sunday denied an alleged romantic relationship with the wife of friend and Google co-founder Sergey Brin.

The alleged affair was reported over the weekend by The Wall Street Journal and stated the relationship led to Brin and his wife's divorce.

The Journal says the story is based on information from "people familiar with the matter," and claims the "brief affair last fall" between Brin's wife, Nicole Shannon, and Musk, a wealth entrepreneur and Tesla CEO, led to the couple's divorce. 

"This is total bs," Musk tweeted Sunday evening. "Sergey and I are friends and were at a party together last night! ... I’ve only seen Nicole twice in three years, both times with many other people around. Nothing romantic."

Musk, who has eight children with three women, in an apparent defense to the allegation, also said he hasn't "had sex in ages (sigh.)"

Musk earlier this year made a multi-billion-dollar offer buy Twitter that was accepted by the social media platform's board of directors but criticized by some employees and others concerned about Musk's outspoken opinions on politics and other matters.

Musk has since attempted to slow the finalization of the deal until he learns the true number of Twitter uses, which he has suggested is inflated by "bots," or fake accounts. 

"Yeah, the character assassination attacks have reached a new level this year, but the articles are all nothing-burgers," Musk also said Sunday. "None of the key people involved in these alleged wrongdoings were even interviewed!

"WSJ has run so many bs hit pieces on me and Tesla I’ve lost count!  ... Just more shortseller fud."
