A 13-year-old girl from Dallas that had been missing for almost two weeks was found locked up in a shed more than 1,000 miles away from home, where she had been kept and reportedly raped by a man she met on social media, authorities said.

The girl was found in Lexington, North Carolina, about an hour northeast of Charlotte, according to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office.

After an investigation, the FBI determined that the kidnapper, 34-year-old Jorge Ivan Santos Camacho, had been chatting with the teen through the online platform Discord after meeting her while playing an online video game.

“The content of the chat was consistent with grooming and enticement,” according to a news release by the sheriff’s office.

Police located Santos Camacho after identifying his vehicle through surveillance footage near the teen’s home. The police then located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, officials said.

“During the traffic stop, it was determined that the juvenile was locked in an outbuilding on the (suspect’s) property,” the release said.

At the property, authorities opened the shed and found the teenager. She was taken to a hospital to undergo an evaluation and was then taken back to Texas.

Santos Camacho was arrested and charged with eight counts of felony, including child abduction, felonious restraint, human trafficking, and statutory rape of a child, the Sheriff’s Office said. He is being held in the Davidson County Jail on a $1,255,000 bond.

“It was very stressful and scary. We were hoping to see her again and thank God that was the case,” said the teenager’s mother.
