A teenage couple was arrested after being accused of committing a string of armed robberies in northeast El Paso.

Christopher John Howard, 19, was charged with harassment of a public servant and aggravated robbery. Alicia Monica Herrera, 18, was charged with aggravated robbery.

Howard and Herrera allegedly robbed four convenience stores along the same route in about 20 minutes. The robberies all took place between 3:30 a.m. and 3:50 a.m. on Thursday.

Police claim that one of the two would enter a store and rob the store clerks at gunpoint while the other waited outside in a black Ford Fiesta to get away from the scene.

Police issued a citywide lookout for the car. However, within minutes of the last robbery at a 7-11 on Dryer Street, the police officers found the suspects in the getaway car at Missouri Avenue by Magnolia Street.

The two suspects were booked into the El Paso County Detention Center. Howard is jailed under a $220,00 bond, while Herrera has a $150,000 bond.

Additional charges for the two are pending.

Police said they have not yet released the couple’s booking photos because the incidents are still under investigation.
