After 25 years of working together, Puerto Rican singers Wisin & Yandel announced the end of their duo career to work on separate projects. The duo will release their last album titled "La última misión" in 2022.

During the promotional tour of their new single, “Recordar,” they said it would be their last as a duo. Both of them want to close a chapter of their lives that made them renowned reggaeton artists worldwide.

This upcoming album, which they hope to release in 2022, was necessary to "close this cycle in the right way," according to Juan Luis Morera, Wisin's real name.

"I will always be involved in music. Retiring from music will never happen. What I do is what I love, it is not work, but something I enjoy," said Wisin.

This is the second time that Wisin & Yandel announce the end of their collaboration. In 2014, they focused on their independent careers, but started working together again five years later for their album “Los Campeones del Pueblo / The Big Leagues.”

This last tour was prepared before the pandemic, according to Yandel. "I think this is the last run for Wisin & Yandel. We still have energy, careers and let's see what happens. Music is our vice and we will continue making music," assured the other member of the reggaeton duo.

Wisin believes that “after so many years of sacrifice” it is time to say goodbye in a big way. “In 2022 and early 2023 will be many concerts in new cities and others that we have already been to share our successes," he explained.

"The reality is that I love Wisin y Yandel, I love my brand. There are so many years of sacrifice and work that no one will erase, but you have to think responsibly," concluded Wisin, who recently became a father.
