NYC woman struck by subway train after falling onto tracks

A 20-year-old woman was fatally struck by a New York City subway train after accidentally falling onto the tracks on Tuesday night, authorities reported.
The woman fell to the tracks at around 10:40 p.m. at Grand Central subway Station as a southbound 7 train was approaching.
Upon seeing the woman fall, the train’s operator tried to break but was not able to stop the train on time and ended up hitting the woman.
New York Fire Department (FDNY) tried to save the woman. However, she was pronounced dead one hour later.
It is unclear what caused the victim to fall onto the train tracks.
The woman’s identity has not yet been released.
