AOC is ready to trade in her $50k Tesla, says she could 'care less' about Elon Musk

“At the time, it was the only EV that could get me from New York to Washington on like one, or one-and-a-half charges,” she said. “I would love to switch"

Just days after tech billionaire Elon Musk signaled that he would vote for Republican candidates in the upcoming primary elections, far-left Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has said that she plans on ditching Tesla for a different electric vehicle brand.

Although the Democratic congresswoman bought her Model 3 – now valued at nearly $50,000 – in 2020 in order to travel between Washington and New York City, she recently told Bloomberg that she is ready to ditch Musk’s cars for something union-made.

“At the time, it was the only EV that could get me from New York to Washington on like one, or one-and-a-half charges,” she said. “I would love to switch.”

But AOC has said that her desire to switch things up has nothing to do with Musk’s nascent support for the GOP. When asked her thoughts on his apparent change of sides, she answered, “He’s a billionaire. I could care less what he thinks,” the Daily Wire reported.

Still, her feud with the Tesla CEO has been going on for years and has been surprisingly public.

Last December, Musk took to Twitter to tease AOC after she complained that Republicans love to hit on her.

“If Republicans are mad they can’t date me they can just say that instead of projecting their sexual frustrations onto my boyfriend’s feet,” Ocasio-Cortez said of critics last year. “Ya creepy weirdos.”

“Stop hitting on me, I’m really shy,” Musk responded.

The congresswoman’s original message was in reference to Ocasio-Cortez claiming her detractors actually just want to date her.

“It’s starting to get old ignoring the very obvious, strange, and deranged sexual frustrations that underpin the Republican fixation on me, women, & LGBT+ people in general,” she added. “These people clearly need therapy, won’t do it, and use politics as their outlet instead. It’s really weird.”

Ocasio-Cortez’s rant about Republicans and their “sexual frustrations” came just hours after she was seen dining in Miami Beach, just as COVID-19 cases were spiking in her home district.

As the congresswoman enjoyed Miami’s 80-degree weather and an icy drink without a mask, a cold, dark New York City reported almost 44,000 new cases of COVID-19 – a record high for the city which once again was on the verge of becoming a coronavirus hot-spot.

“Glad to see AOC enjoying the Florida freedom and sunshine, but it’s sad that school children in NYC are forced to eat lunch outside in freezing temperatures this winter due to the draconian and useless COVID policies pushed by AOC and her fellow progressives,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) spokeswoman Christina Pushaw told The Daily Wire following the report.

“Welcome to Florida, AOC!,” DeSantis’ team tweeted. “We hope you’re enjoying a taste of freedom here in the Sunshine State thanks to [Ron DeSantis]’s leadership. P.S. We recommend the Rock Shrimp Roll and the Aoki Tai the next time you decide to dine in Miami. Cheers!”
