This Thursday, six heads and other human remains were found on top of a parked car in the municipality of Chilapa de Álvarez, one a city plagued by criminal violence in the Mexican state of Guerrero.

Police authorities reported that the incident is allegedly linked to drug wars, reported AFP.

The State Police claimed they received reports of heads on the hood of a black Volkswagen Pointer. Eight black plastic bags containing the mutilated remains of six people were also found inside.

In front of the car, a poster was found hanging with a message warning that in the municipality—an hour from Chilpancingo, the capital of Guerrero—it is forbidden to distribute and consume crystal meth, according to local media.

So far, the bodies have not been identified and were handed over to the Forensic Medical Service, added news outlet Proceso.

On March 24, three more decapitated bodies were abandoned on a stretch of highway in the Guerrero municipality of Iguala. Police reports claimed that the victims were bloodied and were men between 30 and 40 years old.

The Sierra or Tlacos cartels, led by Onesimo Marquina, the 'Necho', and the Bandera, a cell of Guerreros Unidos, are in conflict the region, reports Infobae.

For the past decade, other criminal groups have also sought to control the city of Chilapa, where authorities give impunity to narco leaders, reported Amapola, cited by Animal Politico. This has led to political violence, forced disappearances, and displacement.
