Sen. Rick Scott: Democratic leaders are "emboldening" Maduro, Díaz-Canel and Ortega regimes

Scott also said that his opponent in the Florida based U.S. Senate rate, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, has supported “socialist policies like Kamala Harris' price controls and voted with members of the Socialist Squad more than 93% of the time during her short term in Congress.”

As part of his comments about Hispanic Heritage Month this September, U.S. Sen. Rick Scott from Florida criticized Democrat policies, saying that some of the political party’s most prominent leaders have emboldened communist dictators in the Latin American region.

Scott specifically said that President Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and his own Democratic opponent Debbie Mucarsel-Powell in Florida “have done nothing but embolden dictators like (Nicolás) Maduro, (Miguel) Díaz-Canel and (Daniel) Ortega.”

Scott celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month at an event with leaders of Hispanic coalitions in Florida, who reaffirmed their support for the Republican senator ahead of his re-election in the November elections.

“It is an honor to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with leaders of our incredible Hispanic coalitions, who have contributed so much to the success of our state,” the Florida based U.S. senator said. “Together, we have made Florida the best place in the nation to live. But now, while Democrats trying to take our country down the path of socialism, we must make our voices heard in November.”

The former Florida governor turned legislator also said that his opponent Debbie Mucarsel-Powell has supported “socialist policies like Kamala Harris's price controls and voted with members of the Socialist Squad more than 93% of the time during her short period in Congress.”

The senator has said on several occasions that Democrats “want more inflation and higher taxes for the American people, while giving tax benefits to illegal (immigrants). That's not what Floridians want, especially those who have escaped socialist countries. We cannot continue down this path for four more years. This November, together with Florida's Hispanic community, we will reject socialism and restore the American dream for Floridians and all Americans."

Scott has traveled throughout Florida to meet with members of the state's Hispanic community. He has already toured all 67 counties and has announced numerous coalitions in support of his campaign, including: Venezuelans for Rick Scott, Cubans for Rick Scott, Nicaraguans for Rick Scott, Colombians for Rick Scott, Ecuadorians for Rick Scott, Puerto Ricans for Rick Scott, Dominicans by Rick Scott, Hispanic Faith Leaders for Rick Scott and Brazilians for Rick Scott, according to his campaign.

Last Thursday, Scott and Sen. Marco Rubio presented a bill in which they asked to increase the reward for any information leading to the capture of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro.

The Law to Ensure Timely Payment Opportunities and Maximize Rewards for Detaining Illegal Regime Officials (STOP MADURO) seeks to increase the reward amount from $15 million to a maximum of $100 million.

“The reward would be paid by the federal government using seized assets already being withheld from Maduro, Maduro regime officials and his co-conspirators, not taxpayer funds,” Scott explained in a statement.

Republican Rep. Mario Díaz-Balart and Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz are leading the bipartisan legislation in the House of Representatives, which is co-sponsored by Reps. Carlos A. Giménez, Jenniffer González-Colón, María Elvira Salazar,Mike Waltz, Chris Smith and Darren Soto.
