A 21-year-old man was arrested after he called in a fake bomb threat at the Miami-Dade public defender’s office.

According to the Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD), Matthew Sanjurjo called the defender's office on Friday at around 10:30 a.m. local time reporting four bombs in the Carlos Martinez Building at 1320 NW 14th street.

Sanjurjo called the offices a second time saying “I am the one with the bomb” and then hung up, police reported.

The suspect called a third time before 11:00 a.m. “I want to play a game,” he said before hanging up again.

“During these calls, Santiago identified himself by providing his personal jail number: 210145763,” police said.

Hundreds of employees at the public defender’s office were immediately evacuated. City of Miami police and a bomb squad arrived at the scene to investigate the bomb threat and search the area.

However, detectives determined that there was no threat or any confirmed injuries.

Sanjurjo was arrested by MDPD and was placed in the Miami-Dade County Pre-Trial Detention Center. He is facing charges of making a false report or bomb threat against the government or publicly owned property, reported Local10.
