Dozens of people in South Florida's Hollywood took the streets in support for Ukraine, which has been under  Russian attack since the early hours of Thursday, February 24.

Holding huge banners and raising Ukrainian flags, Floridians called on Saturday for an end to the war in Kyiv. Many Ukrainians in Florida said they were worried about their relatives who remain in the country, Telemundo 51 reported.

"We can't do anything. It's very difficult," said Diana, a Ukrainian resident of Florida, whose family remains in Ukraine.

Also, a Ukrainian resident of Florida, Anna Orlovska, said, "I am worried about my family. I feel very sad."

Both women expressed fear for their friends, family, and all Ukrainians who still remain in the country.

Early Thursday morning, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered his military to carry out a "special military operation" to "demilitarize" Ukraine. Since then, several countries have applied sanctions against Russia for its decision to invade its neighboring country, which is seeking to remain strong in the face of Russian attacks.

President Volodymyr Zelensky reiterated Saturday that he will not abandon the capital and that Ukrainians will not lay down their arms. Ukraine "successfully repels enemy attacks," he said.

The Ukrainian Minister of Health, Viktor Liashko, reported on Saturday that at least 198 civilians have died since the beginning of the invasion.
