What was a rumor weeks ago was confirmed this Tuesday: Shakira will perform at halftime of the Copa América final, which will be played on Sunday, July 14, at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, according to the South American Football Confederation more commonly known as CONMEBOL.

This is the first time that there will be a musical performance during half-time of a Copa América final.

And it couldn't be any other way than with the most popular Latina artist of recent times, the singer of hit albums such as Pies Descalzos, Monotonía and Waka Waka (This Time for Africa).

“She is a superstar who believed big and who represents and magnifies Latin American greatness in the world,” said Alejandro Domínguez, president of CONMEBOL, the international organization, said in a message on the social network X.

"Just like our football, that day of the final is going to be a festive final and there is no one better than Shakira to be with us to enjoy this great final," the manager added on the social network.

Last May, the Copa América announced that the song, “Puntería,” from the Colombian's latest album, “Las mujeres no cry,” was chosen as the official song of the tournament.

So far they have not announced the names of other artists participating at the long-awaited event, except Colombian producer and songwriter, Feid, who will reportedly perform at the inauguration.
