An unidentified group of “good Samaritans” led Monroe County deputies to $2 million worth of cocaine they found after it washed up on the sandy beaches of the Florida keys.

This past weekend, Chief Patrol Agent Walter N. Slosar of the U.S. Border Patrol revealed the find on Twitter, writing, “Good Samaritans discovered 126 lbs. of cocaine washed-up along the coastline in the Florida Keys."

“[Border Patrol] agents with support from [the Monroe County Sheriff's Office] recovered the drugs,” the agent wrote. “The cocaine has an estimated street value of nearly two million dollars.”

The good Samaritans reportedly found the cocaine filled packages in a line of mangroves close to the Ocean Pointe Condominiums.

“When Monroe County deputies were called to collect the packages, they found a large package that had multiple smaller packages within it,” a local Florida news report said. “The smaller packages were tightly packed with black tape. Their contents field-tested positive for cocaine.”

The large package purportedly weighed 71.6 pounds and the total of all packages combined was 126 pounds.
