What did Gerard Piqué gain from his custody agreement with Shakira?

Although the singer's departure to Miami with her children is an achievement for her, other points benefit the soccer player in the agreement

The news of the agreement between Shakira and Gerard Piqué was one of the most awaited since the announcement of their separation a few months ago. The agreement has finally been signed by the former couple after reaching an understanding on several points, the most important of which is the custody of the children.

Although for many the document was a victory for the singer to be able to take the little ones to Miami, the reality is not exactly like that.

Several aspects of the agreement brought to light the concessions that the Colombian artist made for the soccer player to accept the relocation of Milan and Sasha to the United States. Some even claim that Piqué has benefited more than was expected, after the fifth meeting with Shakira and their respective legal teams.

Ramón Tamborero, director of the law firm representing Piqué, gave details to the newspaper La Vanguardia and made a shocking comment: "Nobody has won here except the children".

According to what the legal representative explained to the media, the three vacation periods throughout the school year—Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter—correspond entirely to the soccer player. That said, they will be with him for ten days each month and the summer vacations will be divided between the two with 70/30 in favor of the father and his family in Barcelona.

Another important detail to take into account is that if the Catalan defender decides to move to Miami in the short, medium, or long term, everything would change, and shared custody would be on the table. Something that is not ruled out considering that Piqué will no longer play for Barcelona.

Tamborero added that it had been "very, very complicated to get this far. As you know, we have been negotiating, fighting, battling for five months to come up with a 20-page agreement that both parties could sign."

According to media reports, after 12 hours of negotiations, the document was finally presented to the Barcelona court and in the coming days will be ratified by both parties. In addition, the house where they both lived will be put up for sale soon, reported La Vanguardia.
