Blue Jays pitcher Anthony Bass is upset with United Airlines after it purportedly made the Canadian MLB player’s pregnant wife get on the floor and clean up a mess made by his two-year-old daughter.

“The flight attendant @united just made my 22-week pregnant wife traveling with a 5-year old and 2-year old get on her hands and knees to pick up the popcorn mess by my youngest daughter,” Bass tweeted. “Are you kidding me?!?!” wrote Bass on Twitter.

Bass’ is married to Sydney Rae James, Jessie James Decker’s sister, who is the wife of former Jets wide receiver Eric Decker.

While Bass was frustrated over the way the major airline treated his pregnant wife, he did not get a sympathetic response from other Twitter users on the social media platform.

“Genuinely curious who should clean up the mess your 2-year-old made?” one person said. “As a parent of three kids, I am the one responsible for them.”

Bass explained, “The cleaning crew they hire!”

“Since you have money to burn & aren’t teaching your kids no one owes them anything, why don’t you hire a maid to travel w/ you?” asked Twitter user Ariaa Jaeger. “You’re the reason we pay more for airline tickets, you take no personal [responsibility] & are raising kids to blame others for their mess.”

Another user with little sympathy for Sydney’s pregnant situation told Bass, “I love how this tweet backfired on you spectacularly and you look like the mega a–hole here lmao.”

Bass has appeared in seven games for the Blue Jays this season. He has been a professional major league baseball player for 12 years.

Bass has also pitched for the Chicago Cubs, Miami Marlins, Houston Astros, Texas Rangers, and the San Diego Padres.
