This is not the first canine attack that has recently shocked Southern California. A few days after the ferocious attack by domestic dogs on a baby near Los Angeles, horrific images of another event have surfaced. The new victim, whose name has not yet been released to the media, is estimated to be between two and three years old, NBC reported.

A little girl was playing on the beach, near the water, when a coyote came out of nowhere at full speed and jumped on her while her mother was a few meters away. The girl was seriously injured. The incident, which occurred near the famous Huntington Beach Pier, was recorded by a security camera.

Police were quick to respond to the emergency call. Although the animal was no longer in the area, the child was transported to a hospital. The girl suffered serious injuries. However, they were not life-threatening, according to Huntington Beach police. Authorities said they do not plan to release further information about the victim since she is a minor.

The attack occurred in City Beach around 9:45 p.m., according to police who were on the scene. Officers ended up shooting two coyotes, one near the pier and another near the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Goldenwest. However, it has not yet been confirmed that these were the animals that attacked the girl.

Forensic doctors are currently analyzing the DNA of those involved to prove whether one of these two animals was responsible for the attack. They will also be tested for rabies to rule out further complications in the girl’s condition.

Despite the animal's bites, the girl is stable and will recover. "The family had done absolutely nothing to provoke the animal or anything that would lead it to commit this type of attack,” Captain Patrick Foy, of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife told KTLA. He also said that her family acted quickly when they heard the girl's screams, but 12 seconds was enough time to cause the serious injuries.
