U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband was arrested for DUI early Sunday for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.

San Francisco businessman and real estate investment executive Paul Francis Pelosi, 82, was arrested in Napa County, California, just before midnight Saturday and booked at a nearby jail a few hours later on two criminal counts, according to charging documents obtained and published by TMZ.

The DUI charges mean that police officers believe that Pelosi had a blood alcohol content level of 0.08 or higher, which is a misdemeanor offense in the State of California.

Pelosi’s bail was set at $5,000.

TMZ apparently confirmed the incident by comparing arrest information to publicly known information about Pelosi, including his date of birth. He did not respond to press inquiries from other news organizations made to the Speaker’s office.

TMZ additionally reported that Mrs. Pelosi was scheduled to deliver a commencement address at Brown University in Rhode Island on Sunday afternoon, making it unlikely she was in the car with her husband.
