Actress Jane Fonda made a stunning admission on Tuesday to Vogue magazine about one of her deepest regrets–but this time it didn’t have anything to do with her 1972 photoshoot atop an anti-aircraft gun in North Vietnam.
During an interview with world famous fashion magazine, the iconic Sixties sex symbol said she is "not proud" of having undergone a facelift, and that she does not plan to go under the knife again.
The 84-year-old actress spoke of the dangers of undergoing cosmetic procedures in a piece with Vogue magazine about her recent H and M Move campaign.
“I had a facelift, and I stopped because I don’t want to look distorted,” Fonda explained.
“I’m not proud of the fact that I had [one]. ... I don’t know if I had it to do over if I would do it. But I did it. I admit it, and then I just say, ‘OK, you can get addicted. Don’t keep doing it.’
The 9 to 5 actress spoke of her regrets saying that she understood how easy it is for a person to become addicted to plastic surgery. She also assured that at almost 85 years old she will never go under the knife again.
The actress reportedly had her first facelift at age 40 and her second one in 2010, also added that she didn't spend a lot of money on products and treatments, instead claiming that she believed laughter was just as equally good for her skin and her longevity.
“A lot of women ... they’re addicted to it. I don’t do a lot of facials. I don’t spend a lot of money on face creams or anything like that, but I stay moisturized, I sleep, I move, I stay out of the sun, and I have good friends who make me laugh. Laughter is a good thing too,” Fonda told Vogue.
Also, in another part of the interview, the actress confessed that to fight aging, good genes but also money, helped to stay young.
She also added that she doesn't hesitate to reveal her age when asked, however, she also tells herself, "Yeah, Fonda. You have money. You can afford a trainer. You can afford plastic surgery. You can afford facials. You can afford the things that help make you continue to look young. That is true. Money does help. Good genes and a lot of money, as somebody once said."
Fonda, who is also known for her range of exercise videos, has her grievances about her cosmetic procedures, but says she is grateful for the effort she put into grooming her body.
