Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck got married for the second time in a month at the actor’s $8.9 million Hampton Island riverfront estate in Georgia, an 87-acre plantation just outside of historic Savannah.

The 53-year old Latina singer and 50-year old Hollywood actor, who starred as an American war pilot in ‘Pearl Harbor’ and as CIA officer Jack Ryan in Tom Clancy’s ‘The Sum of All Fears’, finally said their vows in a formal setting with an audience of friends and family after the two previously eloped on July 16 when they tied the knot at A Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas.

That wedding came after the two—now affectionately known as ‘Bennifer’ by the media—fell back in love last year and announced they were engaged in April, a second romance that blossomed after the two first dated from 2002 to 2004. The Hollywood couple said they almost got married then, but called it off after media reports created tension for the two.

The couple’s formal wedding on Saturday evening has been a weekend long celebration that started with dinner for guests on Friday and a traditional southern barbeque on Saturday.

Photojournalists were able to snap photos of workers building a marquee on the property on Thursday while wedding planners made other preparations at the residence, a 6,000 square foot traditional Southern plantation mansion on a sprawling estate.

While some guests were getting a head start on the wedding celebration in Georgia, the happy couple were spotted on Saturday at Lopez’s home. Many were driven in by tour trolley buses and had wedding invitations depicting a bird in flight, according to the New York Post.

Some of the couple’s Hollywood friends in attendance included ‘Clerks’ director Kevin Smith and actor Jason Mewes, Matt Damon and his wife Luciana Barroso. Other stars who were expected to attend include George Clooney, Jane Fonda, Jimmy Kimmel and Renee Zellweger.

Affleck’s younger brother, Casey Affleck, could not attend due to commitments he had with his children in Los Angeles, and his ex-wife Jennifer Garner whom the actor remains close to could not come after scheduling conflicts arose while filming on a set in Texas.

Reports described the wedding scene as having green leaf trails covering an outdoor seating area with a white floor and piano, a theme that matched the white outfits worn by guests—and the beautiful, white, custom-made Ralph Lauren couture gown worn by the bride, according to the Daily Mail. Affleck wore a 007 like stylish black and white tuxedo to compliment the ivory theme of the celebration.

The couple were spotted Saturday in an embrace atop a small wooden bridge over a small body of water on the estate.

Wedding security was tight, as private personnel guarded the perimeter of the estate, checked prospective guests identification at the entrance and issued wristbands while Liberty County Sheriff Deputies patrolled the area. The couple even had their own wedding air force and navy.

From the sky, authorities set a temporary three-mile no-fly zone over the estate, presumably to prevent paparazzi from disrupting the ceremony to get photos, and security cruised the North Newport River, which connects to Affleck’s estate.

“Workers hustled to put the finishing touches on the estate required installing dance floors, special lighting, a raft for a fireworks display and patching up a potholed road. The price was estimated at more than $400,000,” wrote the New York Post.

Affleck bought the Savannah area property in 2003, and hired a famous Atlanta based architect to design the mansion to resemble a Southern style plantation house. The mansion is a 6,000-square-foot home known as “the big house,” and includes a 10,000-square-foot guest cottage, horse stables and a deep water dock.

The couple’s marriage marks the second for Affleck who was previously wed to actress Jennifer Garner and Lopez’s third which includes previous unions with singer Marc Anthony, actor Chris Judd and producer Ajani Noa.

Affleck’s three children from his marriage with Garner—Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Sam, 11 attended while Lopez’s twin children from her marriage with Anthony, Emme and Max, both 14 were also there for the weekend long wedding celebration.

Shortly after the wedding, the happy couple left their guests to continue enjoying the celebration as they left to enjoy their honeymoon in Paris, France.
