A video shows a California woman setting a man on fire at a local park near Fresno on Thursday, according to police.
The surveillance video shows Patricia Castillo, 48, approaching a man lying on the grass in a park in Sanger at around 8:30 p.m. She then proceeded to douse him with a liquid and light him on fire with a lighter, according to a Facebook post by the police.
“The video shows Castillo approaching the victim and throwing a liquid from a cup onto [him] and she and the victim appear to argue before Castillo sparks a lighter and lights the victim on fire,” the Sanger Police Department wrote.
The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He is expected to survive.
Castillo was charged with attempted murder, arson, and conspiracy. A second person, Leonard Hawkins, 43, was also arrested for allegedly providing Castillo with the flammable liquid. Both were booked into Fresno County Jail.
