A couple and their 8-month-old baby were kidnapped on Monday in Merced, County, by a suspect that police described as “armed and dangerous.”

A fourth relative was also taken against his will from a family business in the Central Valley community, Merced County Sheriff’s Office said.

“We have a low-life out there that kidnapped an 8-month-old baby, her mom, her dad and her uncle,” Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke said in a statement Monday night. “We have no motivation behind it, we just know that they are gone.”

According to police, the 8-year old Aroohi Dheri, her parents, Jasleen Kaur, 27, and Jasdeep Singh, 36, and her uncle Amandeep Singh, 39, “were taken against their will from a business” on South Highway 59. Police did not reveal the name of the business.

On Monday evening, the sheriff’s office released images of a man they said was a suspect in the kidnapping. The individual is seen wearing a black and gray hoodie and wears a surgical mask.

Sheriff Wanke is asking anyone with more information about the kidnapping to come forward since there has been no known contact for ransom.

"We’ve got evidence to indicate that the individuals involved in this destroyed evidence in an attempt to cover up their tracks,” he added.

“It’s imperative that we get some information on this,” Warnke said. “People are going to be working 24 hours on this until we get a break.”
