Actor Danny Trejo was announced as the 2022 Grand Marshall of the Hollywood Christmas Parade on Thursday, another highlight in the former’s convict’s accolades.

"Wow! I’m honored to represent Los Angeles. As a kid growing up in the San Fernando Valley, I never would’ve imagined I’d be the Grand Marshal of the Hollywood Christmas Parade. Then and now I still love cruising the streets of Hollywood. What an unbelievable honor," Trejo said about the announcement in a press release.

Trejo will oversee the 90th anniversary of the parade this December, which supports Marine Toys for Tots.

The 78-year-old actor is best known for the 2010 movie “Machete” and overcoming a troubled past. In and out of prison growing up, Trejo found God during a stint in solitary confinement and committed to sobriety. He found work as an extra while working as a drug counselor until his breakout role in 1993 crime drama Blood In Blood Out.

The now-established actor has more than 350 screen credits including "Heat," "Desperado, "Once Upon A Time in Mexico," and "Breaking Bad," but says his favorite role is still “Machete.”

“I would have loved Machete even if I wasn’t in it,” he said.

He recently opened a string of restaurants across Los Angeles featuring his name, including Trejo’s Tacos and Trejo’s Coffee and Donuts, and introduced his own brands of beer, coffee and other merchandise.

The Hollywood Christmas Parade will begin at 6 p.m. on Nov, 27, starting on Hollywood Blvd. and Orange Drive.
