NFL Network comedian Rachel Bonnetta is the latest casualty as the league owned platform continues to lay-off employees, according to a recent report published by the New York Post.
Bonnetta, 31, a popular, pretty brunette has already gained 149,000 followers on Instagram, and her amusing antics have garnered her the attention of “Good Morning Football” as a possible replacement for co-host Kay Adams.
Ultimately, Jamie Erdahl replaced Adams instead, partially because Bonnetta wasn’t keen on relocating from sunny Los Angeles to where the show airs in New Jersey. As a result, NFL and Bonnetta reportedly agreed to a buyout of her contract to leave the platform instead.
According to the Post, NFL Network declined comment and Bonnetta declined to confirm the news when she was reached by the NYC tabloid newspaper.
Bonnetta isn’t alone.
On Monday, NFL reporter Jim Trotter said his contract was also not renewed by the network, and earlier this month, the Post’s Ryan Glasspiegel reported the sports network was getting ready to trim its staff. .
NFL is reportedly preparing to start new decade long television deals with Amazon, CBS, Fox, ESPN and NBC valued at an estimated $110 billion.
Bonnetta became a sensation after a superstar performance at the Super Bowl coverage and using her Instagram to get the platform more attention.
She joined NFLN in 2021 after working at FS1 for five years.
