Clueless superstar Alicia Silverstone wants the public to get a clue when it comes to the ethical treatment of our furry friends.
In an attention-grabbing new ad campaign, the “Kind Mama” author said, posing nude only sporting a pair of camel colored leather boots.
The PETA message is part of a campaign to advocate for more vegan based clothes. She has been a vegan since she was 21 years old.
“If it takes me getting naked for you to care about animals then that is what I’m after,” Silverstone, 46, explained in the PETA video.
“I never, ever, get naked in TV, in film, nothing, never, nope — but I’ve done it for PETA because that’s how much it matters to me.”
“I’d rather go naked than wear animals,” the former Aerosmith video goddess insisted.
“There’s this idea that leather is somehow better for the earth but what they don’t realize is the amount of resources – water, food, oil for transport – the amount of energy that goes into making leather is extraordinary. It’s just not sustainable. The Earth can’t handle it,” she refuted.
The former ‘Excess Baggage’ star also stood beside cactus, sending a message that people should buy different types of “vegan leather.”
“DON’T BE A PRICK,” the PETA says in pink across the photo of Silverstone. “Wear Vegan. Buy cactus, mushroom or apple leather instead!”
This isn’t the first time Silverstone has bared all to support PETA.
In 2019, the ‘Blast from the Past’ star stripped for PETA in a campaign to end wool in a billboard above Manhattan’s Times Square. Silverstone is scheduled to appear in a new billboard in the same NYC location this New Year’s Eve.
