Police found an underground bunker in California containing $100,000 worth of stolen items, including power tools, three shotguns, and ammunition, authorities said on Tuesday.
An investigation into a commercial burglary incident led police to the bunker located in Coyote Creek, where thousands of dollars in stolen goods were hidden.
Some of the merchandise found belonged to local businesses that had recently been robbed, San José Police said on its Twitter account.
"An alleged burglary ring involving people living on the street is believed to be linked to the bunker," San Jose police Sgt. Christian Camarillo told local media outlet KNTV.
"It takes skill with engineering, construction, to build something like this," Camarillo added, noting that the bunker has a sophisticated configuration with electricity.
Six suspects were arrested during the operation.
