A woman in Washington, D.C. survived after jumping from an 8-story building with her legs bound as she was trying to flee from an attacker with a ghost gun, police reported. The suspect was arrested and charged on Friday.
At around 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, officers responded to a report of a person that had fallen to the ground from a residential building at the 4500 Block of Connecticut Avenue in Northwest. Police found the victim, a woman in her 20s, in critical condition with her legs bound together.
A subsequent police investigation revealed that the victim had been involved in a dispute inside an apartment on the eighth floor of the building. Authorities believe that the victim’s hand and feet were tied, but she was able to partially free herself and “jumped from the building.”
While the suspect fled the scene, the police recovered a “rifle-style ghost gun belonging to the suspect,” according to a police statement.
MPD announces an arrest made in this case. 22 year-old Kylee Jamal Palmer, of Northwest, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with Intent to Kill, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, and Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device.

Police believe that the suspect is the woman’s partner and father of their one-and-a-half-year-old child, 22-year-old Kaylee Jamal Palmer. He was arrested on Thursday when he returned to the scene.
On Friday, police charged Palmer with assault with intent to kill, possession of an unregistered firearm, and possession of a large capacity feeding device.
After the fall, the woman was transported to a nearby hospital, where she remains in critical condition. The victim is expected to recover, said Cmdr. Duncan Bedlion.
“We know she had serious injuries, and she has a long road to recovery, so I don’t want to disregard that, but it’s a miracle she’s alive, and I’m very grateful for that,” he said.
The case remains under investigation.
