U.S. President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden plan to hold a White House wedding reception for their granddaughter in November, the First Lady's office confirmed.

The president's granddaughter, Naomi Biden, will marry her fiancé Peter Neal in the fall. The event will be the first presidential wedding celebration at the White House in more than a decade.

"The president and first lady will host the wedding of granddaughter Naomi Biden and her fiancé Peter Neal at the White House on Nov. 19, 2022," Elizabeth Alexander, the first lady's communications director, confirmed in a statement.

"The First Family, the couple, and their parents are still in the planning stages of all the wedding festivities and expect to announce more details in the coming months," Alexander added.

Naomi Biden will become the first member of the presidential family to celebrate her wedding at the White House since Jenna Bush Hager, daughter of then-President George W. Bush, who got married in June 2008 after holding a ceremony in Texas.

“Peter and I are endlessly grateful to my Nana and Pop for the opportunity to celebrate our wedding at the White House. We can’t wait to make our commitment to one another official and for what lies ahead,” tweeted Naomi Biden.
