White House deputy press secretary tests positive for COVID
The 44-year-old Biden official said that because she is both vaccinated and boosted she is only experiencing "mild symptoms."

White House deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday after traveling to Europe with President Joe Biden.
Jean-Pierre announced her positive test results less than a week after White House press secretary Jen Psaki tested positive for COVID.
"This afternoon, after returning from the President’s trip to Europe, I took a PCR test. That test came back positive," Jean-Pierre said.
The deputy press secretary noted that President Biden would not be considered a "close contact" under Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance and that she last saw the commander-in-chief on Saturday "during a socially distanced meeting."
"I am sharing the news of my positive test today out of an abundance of transparency," she said.
The 44-year-old Biden official said that because she is both vaccinated and boosted she is only experiencing "mild symptoms."
She said she plans on working from home and returning after five days of isolation with a negative test.
Jean-Pierre and Psaki are not the only Democratic officials to test positive for COVID in recent days. Last week, former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton tested positive for COVID-19.
