Twitter users vote that Musk 'should step down as head' of social media platform
The CEO did not give any details of when he would step down from his position if the poll results say he should

Twitter users voted in favor of Elon Musk stepping down as CEO of Twitter after he launched a poll on Sunday whether he should consider stepping down as CEO of the company. He has promised he would abide by the results, which totaled 57.5% voting yes and 42.5% voting no.

While the CEO did not give any details of when he would step down from his position if the poll results say he should, he said “there is no successor” in a reply to a Twitter user.
Last month, Musk said he planned to find someone else to run the social media company that has “been in the fast lane to bankruptcy since May.” However, “the question is not finding a CEO, the question is finding a CEO who can keep Twitter alive,” he added.

The poll comes as Twitter updated its policies on Sunday, prohibiting accounts from promoting other social media firms or content with links to profiles on other social media platforms.
While cross-content posting will still be allowed, the new policy update would affect content involving links or usernames from other social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Mastodon, Truth Social, Tribal, Nostr, and Post.
After receiving negative backlash from the policy update, Musk apologized and tweeted "Going forward, there will be a vote for major policy changes."

Elon Musk, also the CEO of Tesla, bought the social network for $44 billion in October and has since implemented a series of changes. During his first few months Twitter’s new owner, Musk fired top managers, implemented privacy changes, reinstated suspended accounts, and announced new fees associated with the social media platform.
