Truth Social on Tuesday ranks as the No. 1 free app on the online iOS apps store, with the Twitter app in second.

Truth Social – started by former President Trump, who's been banned from Twitter – got off rocky start in when it launched in February. It immediately became among the most popular apps. But demand stagnated and fell as the startup was plagued by long wait-times to join, server-issues and Trump's own decision not to use it.

On Monday, amid billionaire Elon Musk saying he had reached a deal with Twitter to buy the platform for roughly $44 billion, Trump said he would not return to it.

"I am not going on Twitter, I am going to stay on Truth," he said on Fox News.

Trump Media and Technology Group CEO Devin Nunes told Just the News on Friday that the backlog of accounts waiting to use to the platform has been cleared and is now open to millions of users.

That same day, Truth Social said the company had completed its move to a new cloud system run by Rumble that would allow it to onboard millions of new users.
