Former President Donald Trump endorsed David Perdue for governor, describing him as "a Conservative fighter who isn’t afraid of the Radical Left." The former Georgia Senator plans to primary incumbent Republican Gov. Brian Kemp in 2022.

Perdue "is the only candidate in Georgia who can beat Stacey 'The Hoax' Abrams," Trump wrote Monday. Democrat Abrams is running for governor again after being defeated in 2018 by Kemp.

Trump's endorsement harshly criticized Perdue's primary opponent. "Brian Kemp has failed Georgia. He caved to Stacey Abrams before the 2020 Election and allowed massive Election Fraud to take place," Trump stated.

Perdue lost his Senate seat to Democrat Sen. Jon Ossoff in January 2021.

Trump promised that Perdue would "eliminate Income Tax, secure the Elections, defend the Second Amendment, support our great Farmers, get crime in Atlanta and other places under control, take care of our great Vets, and put parents back in charge of the schools."

The 45th president also reiterated his support for NFL star Herschel Walker, who is running for Senate in Georgia. "Trump supporters will turn out to vote for these great leaders in big numbers," he said.
