Legendary Patriots and Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady is reportedly set to retire after 22 record-smashing seasons in the NFL, according to media reports.

The news, which had yet to be acknowledged by Brady on Saturday afternoon, was apparently confirmed by Brady's former teammate Julian Edelman on Twitter on Saturday.

"Thanks for the memories, babe," Edelman tweeted in what commentators took as a reference to Brady's retirement.

Brady played for the New England Patriots for 20 years before spending the last two years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
