At least three people were killed on Monday after a massive crash involving 50 to 60 vehicles brought traffic to a standstill in Pennsylvania.
The accident occurred around 11:00 a.m. on Interstate 81 near the Minersville exit, prompting Schuylkill County authorities to declare a multiple-victim accident, reported the Independent.
A deputy county coroner confirmed that at least three people died at the scene and 20 others were hospitalized.
Images posted on social media show vehicles crashing into each other, including a cargo truck in the northbound lanes.

Wintry conditions in the area delayed rescue crews attempting to reach the site from Route 901, according to the Associated Press.
On Monday morning, the National Weather Service (NWS) warned of the possibility of snow squalls affecting visibility.
"The storms will quickly reduce visibility to less than a half-mile and blanket roads with snow," forecasters said, urging drivers to pull off the road if possible or turn on hazard lights "and reduce speed gradually to avoid a vehicle accident."
The snow shower warning was in effect until 5:00 p.m. Monday.
