A teenager confessed to fatally shooting a girl through video chat on Instagram on Friday and asked for help to dispose of the body, authorities of Bensalem, Pennsylvania said.

According to the police, Joshua Cooper, 16, was video chatting with his female acquaintance when he told her about the crime he had just committed.

Cooper then flipped the video camera and showed his acquaintance the feet of his 13-year-old victim covered in blood. He then asked her to help him dispose of the body.

The girl immediately told her mom, who told the police.

Police officers went to Cooper’s home at Top of the Ridge Trailer Park on Gibson Road. However, as they approached his home, Cooper ran away.

Police found the body of the 13-year-old girl inside the bathroom with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. Police said it looked like someone had tried to clean up the crime scene.

Cooper was found by police a short distance from the trailer park.

The suspect said "it was an accident ... '[he's] sorry' and that he's 'going to jail for the rest of his life,’” according to the affidavit.

According to Bensalem police, Cooper said he was cleaning out his dad’s safe, where he had guns and ammunition when the girl was dropped off at his home. Cooper at one point claimed that he was in a sexual relationship with the victim, according to the affidavit.

"The kid seemed harmless. I know he had problems you know. I thought he was a danger to himself if anything," said neighbor Gary Seeley.

Cooper was taken to a juvenile detention center with no bail. He faces charges of criminal homicide, possessing instruments of crime, and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.
