Scottie Scheffler won the 2022 Masters golf tournament in Augusta, Ga., on Sunday, just two weeks after he became the No. 1 golfer in the world.

His quick rise to the top is highlighted by the fact that he won his first-ever PGA Tour event less than 60 days ago, Yahoo Sports reported.

Scheffler, 25, finished his final round on Sunday at 71, which is 10-under and three strokes better than second-place Rory McIlroy.

The Masters tweeted a video of Scheffler's final put as the crowd cheered.

The tournament also saw the return of Tiger Woods just 14 months after a devastating car accident that resulted in a severe leg injury.

ESPN reports that Scheffler has now joined Woods and Jordan Spieth as being the only players 25 or younger to win the Masters over the past 40 years.
