Artist producer Raphy Pina Nieves, husband of singer Natti Natasha, will have to pay the attorney's fees and costs of William Omar Landron, known in the art world as Don Omar, after losing a defamation lawsuit.

Judge Carlos Lopez of the Miami-Dade Court in Florida determined the results of the case this week. Everything happened after last January 24, when the lawyer dismissed the lawsuit in which Pina Nieves alleged economic damages and damage to his reputation because the reggaeton singer called him "chota" on his social media. The legal dispute reached the courts in March of last year.

Documents obtained from the court show that the costs of Don Omar's legal representation, in the hands of attorneys Amado Alan Álvarez and Carlos O. Friger, amount to some $137,840. According to the breakdown presented, it would be $111,760 for the 139.7 hours at 800 each for Alvarez's services. The remaining $26,080 would be for Friger, for 65.2 hours worked at a rate of $400 each.

"The Court finds that defendant Landron submitted a valid Settlement Proposal in accordance with applicable Florida law, which was made in good faith. That defendant Landron is, therefore, entitled to an award of attorneys' fees and costs from plaintiff Pina," reads the order imposing payment.

Don Omar made two posts on his social media after the trial. In the first one, he wished his followers good morning and accompanied his message with a GIF of a person eating popcorn. A few minutes later, he shared a photo in which he is seen looking out the window and accompanied it with the following text: "The great satisfaction of seeing chaos."

On the other hand, Pina Nieves was supposed to have his sentencing hearing this week in the federal court in Old San Juan. However, Judge Francisco Besosa postponed it last Wednesday for the third time. Now, the sentencing hearing is scheduled for Monday, May 16, in the afternoon. Pina is currently charged with tax evasion.
